First of all, if you're reading this, I'd like to thank you for choosing to stick with us.
As you may know, this Free Company is the result of a merge between two FFXI Linkshells - the TemplarsofBaldur (Sylph) and Unrockbar (Bismark) - with some new friends from multiple groups thrown in the mix. As such, we are treating it as an entirely new guild.
We invite you all to introduce yourselves here so we get acquainted before the game starts.
If you are interested, in learning more, here's some more info on how this Free Company came to be and what do we aim to achieve:
Why the merge?
Back on Beta Phase 3 many of us were playing on Moogle (EU) server. Me and Caleo met each other during a highly unlikely turn of events and ever since then we have been talking about how awesome would it be if we could unite both our groups as one. We both had plans to form a Free Company that would tackle endgame on a weekly basis and we both believe that regardless of how many hours you spend within the game what really matters is the quality of your playstyle and how respectful you are towards other players.
On top of that, both Free Companies would need more members if we wanted to progress through the 24-man raids and just make the game environment more social, friendly and familiar in general for those long grinding hours.
The more we talked, the easier it was for us to understand that the merge should be a natural step. We also talked to some of you on the side and the support we got from Lunale, Nalessa and a few others was fundamental to give this decision a go.
What is our purpose?
The reason why me and Caleo resonated so well to begin with is because we both believe in a more flexible approach towards the game, while still maintaining a "superior playstyle". This game should be a hobby for all of us, not a second job or something we might lose our heads over. However, this approach does not mean we have to forbid our desire to take on endgame and build a nice team where everyone gets stuff done. More than that, we want to be great and overcome greater challenges, it's what makes us excited about playing to begin with.
MMO veteran or not, anyone can become a great player if they put some consideration on what they do while in-game and constantly evaluate their own performance seeking to improve themselves. As long as everyone believes in these same ideas, we can achieve anything.
We sincerely hope for everyone to get along and help make each other's playtime as fun as possible.
